I don't know hardware tech enough to say this with confidence, only gut feeling, but if a headset can do 20 different things then that is 20 different things that can go wrong or interfere with one another. The 7X is a better headset because it can be used with more devices / consoles, but if it is only ever going to be used with a PS5 then you will have extra functions that will not get used. Pretty poor if the 7P doesn't do everything they say it will from day one. It is specifically made for the PS5 so if you have a PS5 and the 7P and for some reason they don't work then you are in the best position to ask for support I think - no "well the next firmware will sort that for you". The advantage of the 7P is it is the 2020 version so anything Steelseries have thought to change should be part of this model.
